8 Facts You Must Know About Lamborghini

Lamborghini, or Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. as it’s officially called, produces some of the most exciting sports cars in the word. Some of the newer Lamborghini models are the Countach, the Diablo, the Gallardo and the Murcielago.

Fact 1: Lamborghini is named after the founder of the company Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993). Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company in 1963 when he was 47 years old. The factory is located in a small Italian village called Sant’Agata Bolognese near Bologna.

Fact 2: Ferruccio Lamborghini was a successful tractor manufacturer before he got interested in sports cars. His interest in sports cars made him buy many different high-performance cars including both Maseratis and Ferraris, but he was never really happy with any of them and therefore decided to built his own, perfect sports car,

Fact 3: Lamborghini used to be an independent company, but today it is a subsidiary of the German company Audi AG. Audi AG became the owner of Lamborghini in 1998. Lamborghini went bankrupt in 1978 and was sold to Chrysler a long time before Audi AG became the sole owner of the company.

Fact 4: The fastest Lamborghini is the Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT model. It has been reported to have a top speed of 370 km/h. The fastest street model from Lamborghini is the Murcielago LP640 with an estimated top speed of 340 km/h. Both of the models have a V12 engine with more than 6000 cc.

Fact 5: Several of the newer Lamborghini models feature the familiar Lamborghini scissor doors that rotate up and forward on a hinge near the front of the door. The Countach, the Diablo and the Murcielago all have scissor doors, but the Gallardo does not. Both the Countach and the Diablo are no longer being produced, so the Murcielago is the only current model with scissor doors.

Fact 6: No Lamborghini have ever been produced with less than a V8 engine. Most of the Lamborghini models throughout the history of the company have come with the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, but the newest model, Gallardo, only have a V10 engine. No Lamborghini models with a V8 engine have been since production of the Silhouette stopped in 1989.

Fact 7: The first Lamborghini was the 350GTV from 1963. It was extremely fast for its time with a top speed of 280 km/h. In 1964 a smaller version of the 350GTV appeared. The smaller version was called 350GT and had a top speed of 240 km/h. The Countach from 1974 was the first Lamborghini to go faster than 300 km/h.

Fact 8: In 1975 did Walter Wolf, a rich Canadian businessman and F1 racing team owner, persuade Lamborghini to produce three super powered Countach models. The Wolf Countach had the same engine as the orginal Countach prototype and were able to reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

Lamborghini must be considered one of the world's most exciting sports cars. If you are in any way interested in Lamborghini, you should go and check out the popular website Lamborghini-Wallpaper for more information. Jaguar XK 150: Roadster Extreme

Jaguar is known for its vehicles that have been crafted with graceful style coupled with a superb and excellent performance. One of the vehicles that run under this brand is the Jaguar XK 150. And this vehicle is a roadster and also has been made with several versions like the fixed coupe and the drophead coupe. The roadster version, however, appeared ten months after the introduction of the other two. As per the Jaguar XK 150 roadster, it was essentially designed so as to be the right kind of vehicle that would tackle and spin through the hot and sunny months. This new vehicle holds proper wind up door windows as well as door handles. It also has an improved hood design. Some people say that the Jaguar XK 150 is much more civilized and more appealing than the earlier roadster vehicles from Jaguar like the Jaguar XK 120 and the Jaguar XK 140.
Equally impressive and highly durable Jaguar auto body parts, performance parts, replacement parts, discount parts, and accessories are available at Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Auto Parts’ online store. When you need parts like accessories, mechanical engine parts, exhaust system parts, and fuel injection parts to name a few, first class quality products like these are available at http://www.jaggparts.com./ Each of these will put you on top of the race due to its strict quality control measures. The number one provider of the best Jaguar parts online also offers Jaguar XK 150 parts and other Jaguar parts in great discount prices.
This vehicle actually replaced the Jaguar XK 140. And it has existed from 1957 up until 1961. The Jaguar XK 150 sports a different look. It is shorter and could only take in into its cabin a maximum of two people. Despite that, the Jaguar XK 150 holds a longer bonnet and a revised front scuttle panel. This kind of change has given the Jaguar XK 150 a more rakish and sleeker kind of look. It is even more modern compared to the other two previously mentioned Jaguar roadsters.
The differences between the other roadsters and the Jaguar XK 150 is that the latter uses a one piece windscreen. The wing line also did not dropped that much over the doors. The bonnet was widened and opened down to the wings. The bulkhead was moved to make it around four inches longer. A wide range of color choices were made available for this vehicle and the list includes Red, Pearl Grey, White, Indigo Blue, Claret, Cotswold Blue, Black, Mist Grey, Sherwood Green, Carmen Red, British racing Green, Cornish Grey and Imperial Maroon.
Just like the Jaguar XK 140, the Jaguar XK 150 also held a 3.4 liter DOHC Jaguar straight 6 engine. It could actually produce some 180 bhp at 5750 rpm. Although, through the years that it was manufactured, this roadster had several other engines equipped in it so as to produce more power and be able to produce a much more superb performance.

2007 Porsche 911 GT3

The 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 is a track sports car that was designed to meet the demands of regular road use. Porsche sports car which made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year features a 415-horsepower, six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that can rev up to 8,400 rpm. The new car features shortened gear ratios which combined with the high-revving engine pushes the GT3 to an acceleration of 60mph from zero in just 4.1 seconds. Not only that the engine is fuel efficient and provides consistent torque.

The GT3 boasts of a standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) that provides the sports car firmer damping allowing for superior performance and comfort when being driven on the tracks or on uneven roads or terrain, giving it a definite advantage over the Porsche Carrera. The anti-roll bars remain similar to the Carrera but the PASM gives it a wider control range. This allows the GT3 to speed up even on bumpy roads and improves turning stability. The responsive steering and the six-speed manual transmission provide precise control and stellar response. Aside from the acceleration, the GT3 has better handling than the Carrera. The reduced weight also contributes to the GT3´s handling. The GT3 sports car has been designed for maximum performance with the lower spoiler increasing the down force and speed. The airflow rates were also improved with the throttle valve enlarged to 82 centimeters and a low-backpressure exhaust system.

Career of Fellow Texan Lance Armstrong Highlights the Need for More Sports Law Attorneys

Some superstar athletes develop such a close association with the city or state in which they perform that you cannot mention one without the other quickly coming to mind. Do you think of Peyton Manning without the city of Indianapolis being part of the picture? Of course not. Unless, that is, you are from Tennessee and you still associate the Hall of Fame quarterback with that “other” UT school that drapes itself in bright orange.

Michael Jordan may have studied and played ball at the University of North Carolina and had an awkward late stint with the Washington Wizards, but he always will be associated with Chicago. Here in Texas, we have developed or displayed plenty of amazing athletic talent on the fields and in the arenas. There is a reason that every movie and television program revolving around high school football takes place in Texas.

Just think about some of the household names that have played their sport in our state—Troy Aikman, Vince Young, David Robinson, Tony Parker, Nolan Ryan, and Fred Biggio just to name a few. One athlete of whom we are especially proud is native (Austin) Texan Lance Armstrong. Everyone by now, knows his amazing accomplishments and compelling personal story.

Vauxhall Insignia VXR Sports Tourer (2009) first pictures

This is the third and final iteration of Vauxhall’s hot Insignia range, the VXR Sports Tourer, with a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6.

Will the Vauxhall Insignia VXR make my dog feel sick?
Definitely. The turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 produces 321bhp, enough for a six-second 0-60mph time (0.2sec behind the saloon and hatch) and a 155mph limited top speed.
Beyond the extra grunt, the Insignia VXR features Vauxhall’s Adaptive 4x4 system, an electronic limited slip differential and the company’s new HiPerStrut suspension, which is similar in set-up to the RevoKnuckle system on the Focus RS. The ride height has been lowered 10mm compared to the standard Sports Tourer, and there are new bushes and dampers. Multi-spoke 19-inch alloys are standard (with 20in rims as an option), and they hide vented and drilled Brembo brakes.

Other tweaks include rectangular exhausts and a body kit that takes its cues from the GTC concept, while inside there are Recaro front seats, and a gearstick, steering wheel and dials unique to the VXR.
But you also get the regular Sports Tourer’s practical parts too. There’s a 540-litre boot, or 1530 is you fold the rear seats, while the electric tailgate opens to different heights in case you’re in a tight space.
The VXR Insignia goes on sale in the autumn, and while Vauxhall hasn’t announced prices, expect the Sports Tourer to cost around £31,500

Aston Martin V12 Vantage (2009) CAR review

This is the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage, and it has the potential to be one of the company’s greatest cars to enter its hardly shabby history books. The recipe is simple: take your smallest and lightest chassis and shoehorn into it (to the accompaniment of some polite British swearing) your biggest and most powerful engine. In this case, the result is an additional four cylinders, 90bhp and nearly £52k to Aston’s V8 Vantage. Big numbers – in every department, including that eye-watering price.

Is the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage as hardcore as the V12 RS concept?
We’re afraid not. The bright blue V12 Vantage RS concept that Aston unveiled at the opening of its Gaydon design studio in December 2007 featured a 600bhp V12 from the company’s DBRS9 racer, with the oil tank for the dry-sumped engine filling the Vantage’s boot.
To make the V12 concept a reality, the engine is essentially the same 5.9-litre V12 you’ll find in the DBS. The plumbing is slightly different (and there are some carbon bonnet vents to extract the extra heat), but you still get 510bhp and 420lb ft, plus active valves in the exhaust that woofle on start-up, bark monstrously when you blip the throttle and cry loudly when you home in on 7000rpm.

With dry-biased Pirelli Corsa tyres, the V12 isn’t exactly soft, but sat-nav is standard and the concept’s RS tag has been dropped. Why? Because the concept was ‘thrilling but frightening,’ according to Aston CEO Dr Bez, and ‘absolutely not the car we would have produced.’

Toyoto Becomes Number One Car Company

“Thank you so much for making Toyota number one,” the chairman of Toyota, Fujio Cho, said to Richard Wagoner, the CEO of General Motors, and leaned across the conference table to shake his hand.

“Think nothing of it,” Mr. Wagoner replied, obliging the Japanese exec. “The credit belongs entirely to you and your quality-obsessed company.” “No, no,” the Japanese CEO insisted. “We could never have done it without your reliable incompetence.” “On the contrary, sir,” the GM CEO replied, eyeing the other American and Japanese executives arrayed around the conference table, “the credit is entirely due to your astonishing competence.

After all, you and your company have figured out how to make cars people actually want to buy – form and function, attractively combined.”

Car Insurance For Your Kids

Car insurance is going to be a big deal when it comes time for your kids to start driving. The big deal will be the price. Simply put, it is going to be a lot! Quick - name the riskiest class of drivers on the road. Yes, it would be new drivers. The lack of experience of a new driver means that they are susceptible to making the wrong decision at the wrong time.

The definition of experience, after all, is learning from your mistakes. For new drivers, these mistakes often come in the form of accidents. Insurance companies really dislike risk. The more risk there is with a class of drivers, the higher the premiums that will be charged by the companies. With teens, the risk is much higher. Compared to a senior driver, a teen is three times as likely to get in a crash.

Three times! That alone cranks up the cost of insurance coverage. Your kids are going to start driving sooner or later. When they do, you are going to have to deal with car insurance. Is there any way of cutting down the cost? Fortunately, there is. The key is to go for the discounts offered by the various insurers. When totaled up, they can save you 20 to 30 percent on the premiums. The first discount you should consider is the good grade discount. Most insurers will offer a 5 to 10 percent discount if the kid drivers maintain a certain grade point average. Why? Well, it tends to require the kids to be responsible and focused, two traits which translate to driving.
